ABOUT
Alex Hasselkuss began practicing yoga in the Ashtanga style 20 years ago. She appreciated the regimented practice and focus on a specific known sequence of postures. Alex then trained under world-renowned “teacher of teachers,” Noah Mazé, who opened her mind to the how and why of yoga postures, and to the progressive stages and prerequisite skills needed for these body shapes, alongside teaching yoga philosophy, pranayama, and meditation. Alex completed her 500 hours of yoga teacher training under Noah’s tutelage, as well as an additional mentorship to qualify as a Mazé Method certified instructor able to lead teacher trainings. Alex has also studied yoga with Darren Rhodes, Zhenja La Rosa, anatomy with Martin Kirk, and yoga philosophy with Douglas Brooks.
Recently, Alex became interested in other forms of movement and mobility training, including primal movement, calisthenics and Functional Range Conditioning (FRC), and trained with Naturaletics creator, Aaron Hannon.
Alex’s yoga-inspired classes are a dynamic mix of alignment, strength-building, thoughtful sequencing and fun — designed to challenge and open her students’ bodies and minds in a progressive way. Knowledgeable in anatomy and human movement, Alex makes postures and exercises accessible to a wide range of students from absolute beginners to athletes and advanced practitioners.
