"Meditation is not a way of making your mind quiet, It's a way of entering into the quiet
that's already there."  - Deepak Chopra -

Meditation

About Meditation

The emotional effects of sitting quietly and going within are profound.
With meditation you can dive deep into yourself and enrich your life.

When you meditate, you go beyond the mind’s chatter into an entirely different place.
We release ourselves from the noise of our internal thoughts and dialogue that trigger worry, anger and fear.
We allow ourselves to surrender to a settled state where we have the potential to experience calm, contentment and deep rest.
We don't have to work to create this state within ourselves, we merely are rediscovering what is already natural and present within us.

A large body of research has also established that having a regular meditation practice produces tangible benefits for mental and physical health.

When you discover the silence in your mind, and meditate on a regular basis, all of your thoughts, actions, and reactions are infused with a little more love and mindful attention.

And you can cultivate a happier and healthier you, inside and out.

"Meditation is the journey from sound to silence, from movement to stillness,
from a limited identity to unlimited space."
- Sri Ravi Shankar -

Benefits

Reduces stress

Meditation cuts back your stress hormones (like cortisol and adrenaline) and replaces it with natural bliss chemistry (like dopamine and serotonin).

More energy and better sleep

The very deep rest of meditation can give you lots of energy. But it also is calming your system which will help you fall asleep and will also improve your quality of sleep.

Clears and focuses the mind

Meditation develops full-brain functioning. Meditation brings the brainwave pattern into an alpha state that promotes healing. The mind becomes fresh, and clear so you think with clarity and make good decisions.

Improve memory

Meditation is a powerful tool for awakening new neural connections and even transforming regions of the brain. A recent study shows that by practicing meditation, we can play an active role in changing the brain and the benefits are linked to improved memory and ability to learn.

Improves your health

Chronic, unmanaged stress can weaken your immune system making you sick and accelerating aging. A regular meditation practice can help decrease blood pressure and hypertension; lower cholesterol levels; reduce production of 'stress hormones'; improve oxygen use by the body; improve immune function.

Improves relationships

When you are feeling balanced it is easier to observe and respond in a calm and centered way. Present moment awareness, found in meditation and mindfulness practices, improves your ability to extend compassion to yourself and within other relationships around you, helping you to feel more connected.

Eases depression and anxiety

The deep state of rest produced by meditation triggers the brain to release neurotransmitters, including dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, and endorphins. These naturally occurring brain chemicals have been linked to different aspects of happiness: healing us to feel calm and more relaxed; easing tensions; increasing feelings of contentment and self-worth. These qualities can support us when we are feeling overwhelmed, unstable, or emotionally shut down.

Appreciation for life

Beyond the substantial benefits meditation creates for the mind-body physiology, the greatest gift of meditation is the sense of calm and inner peace it brings into your daily life. When you meditate on a regular basis, all of your thoughts, actions, and reactions are infused with a little more love and mindful attention. The result is a deeper appreciation and a profound awareness of the quality of our existence.

"Meditation is like a seed. When you cultivate a seed with love, the more it blossoms."
To experience the benefits of meditation, regular practice is necessary. See below for some options for meditation sessions here in Bermuda.

Spirit breathes.

Spirit breathes through us, animating and inspiring our every action.
Every thing we create, every sound we speak, every thought we think is an
 expression of spirit.

Yet, surely, after such a glorious, fun, colourful, exuberant release of creative energy there must also be a corresponding inhale?
Is it not be natural for attention to temporarily turn away from objects and activity to look toward the source from which they emanate?

Meditation is the practice of pausing movement, releasing every thing, and observing inwardly so as to notice and acknowledge spirit.
Meditation is the practice of allowing spirit to inhale.

Along with the simple truthfulness, goodness and deep beauty of so allowing spirit to inhale, many practical fringe benefits occur:
Our bodies function better.
Our minds tap new sources of creative insight.
Focus strengthens.
In the spaciousness of
practice our perception deepens and expands.
Understanding and compassion grow.

Meditate.
Allow Spirit to Breathe.
