Power Yoga


This pages includes information and links to teachers in our community who offer more dynamic and challenging styles of yoga practice. Classes may be listed as 'Power Yoga', 'Vinyasa Flow'... or identified as a more advanced level.

If you are new to yoga, consider taking a beginners course or multilevel class first, to learn some of the foundations that will ensure you move into your advanced practice wisely and safely.

Tali's playful approach to teaching will both challenge and entertain all levels with her creative sequencing techniques and light-hearted humour. You will leave class feeling centered and at peace. Drop in to her studios: Tali is co-owner and Managing Director of Lucky Elephant Yoga and Beyond Lucky, both located in Hamilton.

Alex ​Hasselkuss

Alex’s classes are a dynamic mix of alignment, strength-building, thoughtful sequencing and fun, designed to challenge and open her students bodies and minds in a progressive way.  Knowledgeable in anatomy and biomechanics, Alex makes yoga postures accessible to a wide range of students from absolute beginners to athletes to advanced practitioners.

Vinyasa Flow

Vinyasa Flow is the technique of linking your breath with each pose like a beautiful dance. Flowing from one pose to another brings the mind, body and spirit into alignment. Therefore allowing a deeper meditative state of being.

Robin's dynamic mixed level vinyasa flow classes are designed to harmonise the body mind connection. Yoga is a door to cultivate self awareness. Robin's mission as a yoga teacher is to provide a safe zone for compassion, emphathy, and to be a beacon of wholeness and healing.

Katina approaches her personal practice and teaching with humble curiosity and thoughtful consideration. "Through yoga I have found a sense of home in my own body". Influenced by a variety of modern vinyasa forms, her classes  emphasize alignment, strength and breath and make space for all to feel safe and empowered.

Ana Slater-Steede

Ana has
 more than 10,000 hours of professional training in yoga, pilates, bodywork and holistic health studies, with over twenty years experience teaching and working in the holistic health field.  Ana teaches vinyasa flow, incorporating principles of proper body alignment, breathwork, relaxation and meditation. Private, semi-private, and group classes available.
