Teacher's Practice #4 - A Sample of Styles

4/29/2021

"A SAMPLE OF STYLES"
- Sunday 18th August 2019
In the summer of 2019 we had several teachers returning to the island.

With such a diversity of teachers and so many styles of Yoga that are on offer in Bermuda, and for our July Teacher’s Practice we decided to have a fun ‘taster’ of different styles.

We had a beautiful outdoor location overlooking the ocean on South Shore and enjoyed a light hearted and fun gathering celebrating our diversity of practice.

Bermuda's yoga teachers came together for a light hearted and fun gathering in celebration of our diversity of practice.
We experienced 3 mini classes, each in a different style of yoga practice.

MARCIA PRINGLE introduced us to the STRALA YOGA style, which combines yoga with forms of different movement wisdom like tai chi and qigong. Strala is a way of being, moving and healing, that helps people connect with how they feel, move how it feels good, and handle challenges with ease

JOANNE BALL-BURGESS guided us in exploring self-expression through her unique style of YOGA DANCE, using yoga asanas as the vehicle to move into dance and creativity of movement.

And ASHLEY AITKEN gave us an experience of SOMATIC YOGA, guiding us through somatic exploration of fluid and organic movement, breath, sound and stillness, moving slowly, exploring gently and listening to the sensations and signals from the body.

We had a beautiful outdoor location for our fluid and flowing movement practice, accompanied by a gentle evening breeze and a serenade of tree frogs.

A special thank you to all of our presenters, and to everyone who joined us!🙏
THANK YOU to our presenters...
