Kriya Yoga
Kriya Yoga is a comprehensive spiritual path that was brought to the West by Paramhansa Yogananda, author of Autobiography of a Yogi. Kriya also refers to the specific technique that is part of the spiritual path taught by Yoganandya. The word "kriya" is from the Sanskrit root "kri" which means "to do". Practicing a kriya initiates a sequence of physical and mental changes that affect the body, mind, and spirit simultaneously. Kriya encompasses all eight limbs of the classical yoga system as presented in The Yoga Sutras.
