Shanell Vaughn was one of the speakers at our BYTA ‘Teacher’s Practice’ event in February.
The theme of this talk and asana practice was ‘Inspirations’.
Shanell shared the story of the inspiration that called her to travel to India. Her personal journey happened to bring her at the exact same time and location that the International Yoga Festival was being hosted in Rishikesh. Her profound experience so called to her being, that she returned years later taking others with her to experience the magic for themselves.
Here we have taken from Shanell’s Blog post written in April 2017, after her return from the festival.
" Through yoga I have found a sense of home in my own body "
We would like to welcome Katina Weeks, as a new member of the
Bermuda Yoga Teachers Association!
"Yoga has been a part of my daily life since 2017. I approach both my personal practice and teaching with humble curiosity and thoughtful consideration. Through yoga I have found a sense of home in my own body. In my teaching I attempt to make space for all to feel safe and empowered. Influenced by a variety of modern vinyasa forms, I lead classes with emphasis on alignment, strength and breath. I believe every day and every practice is an opportunity to develop a finer balance between effort and ease. I teach multi-level classes for everybody. Private, group, and corporate classes available."
Katina qualified locally through the Lucky Elephant Teacher Training program, learning under international instructors Matt Giordano and Kat Fowler. She graduated and received her 200 hour certification in June 2018
